Good news for fans of the Love Live! universe, since the demo version of Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue, the next game, is now available on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Based on the spinoff starring Yohane from Love Live! Sunshine is a metroidvania-type 2D title with a lot of action, jumping and boss battles.
The demo version that is now available is the same one that attendees at the last Tokyo Game Show were able to try and also the one that was at various public events organized in Numazu. It is divided into two parts, one of them being dedicated to the tutorial. The other increases the level of difficulty, but neither is particularly complicated once you understand the controls.
Yohane can learn moves as she progress in her adventure and unlock new weapons, equipment that the player will have to build, and skills. Some of the skills require the consumption of energy, so they cannot be abused without causing a reduction in the protagonist’s life. She will initially be supported by Lailaps, who can be summoned to make an attack that causes great damage to enemies. As the levels progress, something that can be seen in the demos, it will also be possible to summon the girls from Love Live! Sunshine.
The launch of Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue will take place on November 16 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the demo is only available, at least for now, in the Switch eShop and on Steam.
During the demo there may be several ways to progress and, depending on how you play, you may come across the opportunity to hear the Deepblue song, which will play when you activate a critical mode in tight situations. Since the game features the work of Aika Kobayashi, who plays Yohane, you’re guaranteed to hear a tune you’re sure to recognize.
The launch in Japan in physical format will take place surrounded by different editions with a multitude of merchandising products for fans. However, it is also released in a single edition that allows you to get the game for just over 5,000 yen.
Furthermore, we must not forget that this is not the only game in the series that is on the way, since Yohane The Parhelion: Numazu In The Mirage is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in February of next year. In this case, the game, which is now available for pre-order, introduces users to an RPG with card battles in which all the characters in the series can be recruited. This also has a conversational base that makes the experience and the story more fun.
Although Numazu in the Mirage is still a long way off, at the last Tokyo Game Show 2023 we also had the opportunity to test it and we can tell you that it aims very high. The demo rushed by and ended with a boss battle against Hanamaru’s character that was really fun.
