Evercade september 2025 new cartridges

Evercade consoles and their cartridge collections are revolutionizing the retro gaming industry and delighting many users who remember the games they’re bringing back. With the ease of using cartridges conveniently between different Evercade consoles, each release is an opportunity to connect with the past.

In recent days, new cartridges have been announced that will, once again, provide dozens of games to enjoy as if we’ve stepped back in time.

About Evercade’s new collections

New cartridges are on the way:

  • NeoGeo Arcade 2 and 3: Both collections launch on October 30th, each with six new titles from the Purple Arcade line.
  • Rare Collection 1: Brings together a selection of 12 iconic titles from one of the most beloved and innovative studios in gaming, Rare, which celebrates the studio’s 40th anniversary with the release of this collection on November 28th.
  • Activision Collection 1: A curated collection of 15 legendary titles from the golden age of gaming, available on November 28th, both as a standalone cartridge and as a bundle with the award-winning Evercade VS-R console.
  • The Llamasoft Collection: A historic cartridge featuring 27 legendary games from the legendary Jeff Minter, available on November 28th.

Evercade has announced new arcade cartridge collections joining its extensive Evercade catalog, including a new bundle for the award-winning Evercade VS-R console. All cartridges are compatible with the entire Evercade ecosystem, both current and legacy, as well as HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket systems, giving fans a variety of ways to enjoy these classics at home and on the go.

NeoGeo Arcade

  • NeoGeo Arcade 2 includes 6 classic games: Crossed Swords (1991), Ninja Commando (1992), Sengoku 2 (1993), Art of Fighting 2 (1994), Metal Slug 2 (1998) and Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999).
    NeoGeo Arcade 3 adds 6 more classic games: Ghost Pilots (1991), Super Sidekicks (1992), Samurai Showdown II (1994), Twinkle Star Sprites (1996), The King of Fighters ’97 (1997) and Metal Slug 3 (2000).

Rare Collection 1

A landmark release from Evercade celebrating the studio’s 40th anniversary. The collection features 12 legendary titles from Rare’s early years across PC, home consoles, handhelds, and arcade platforms. It celebrates the studio’s creativity, technical innovation, and unique style, which helped shape the future of gaming.

This new collection, available November 28th, features a wide range of gameplay styles—from high-speed racing and daring gunfights to action-packed platforming and genre-defining arcade experiences—and includes legendary games such as Battletoads, Jetpack, Knight Lore, R.C. Pro-Am, and many more.

Rare Collection 1 includes the following titles: Atic Atac (Spectrum), Gunfright (Spectrum), Jetpac (Spectrum), Knight Lore (Spectrum), Lunar Jetman (Spectrum), Sabre Wulf (Spectrum), Underwurlde (C64), Cobra Triangle (8-bit console), R.C. Pro-Am (8-bit console), Battletoads (8-bit console), Conker’s Pocket Tales (handheld), Battletoads Arcade (Arcade).

Whether it’s the innovative isometric gameplay of Knight Lore, the interstellar shooting action of Jetpac, the chaotic racing of R.C. Pro-Am, or the fighting brilliance of Battletoads, both on arcade and home consoles, Rare Collection 1 captures the studio’s multifaceted genius.

Activision Collection 1

A must-have collection featuring 15 legendary titles from the 2600 era from one of the most influential developers in video game history, available November 28th both as a standalone cartridge and as a bundle with the award-winning Evercade VS-R console, the reimagined version of the award-winning retro console, now with a fresh new design.

This first-ever collection brings together some of the most beloved and influential games from the home console era, offering a wide range of gaming experiences, from high-speed racing, intense action, platforming challenges, and unique arcade-style gameplay.

From the thrilling, vine-swinging action of Pitfall, to the high-speed aerial combat of River Raid, and the strategic depth of Starmaster. Racing fans will enjoy classics like Enduro and Grand Prix, while action lovers can test their reflexes in Megamania and Demon Attack. Also includes the titles: Beamrider, Space Shuttle: A Journey into Space, Fishing Derby, Private Eye, Sky Jinks, Crackpots, Tennis and Freeway.

The Llamasoft Collection

Featuring a historic cartridge featuring 27 legendary games that celebrates the unique, surreal, and wildly creative works of Jeff Minter. Known for his distinctive visual style, fast-paced shoot ’em ups, and quirky humor, Minter’s games have left an indelible mark on video game history.

The Llamasoft Collection is one of the largest collections of Jeff Minter’s early work officially released on physical cartridge, and is also Evercade’s largest collection to date, when it launches on November 28.

This 27-game collection spanning VIC 20, C64, Spectrum, and Atari ST offers an unparalleled window into Minter’s creative journey, featuring the frenetic action of Gridrunner, the pastoral rebellion of Hover Bovver, the strange brilliance of Attack of the Mutant Camels, and the psychedelic mayhem of Llamatron: 2112. Multiple versions of some titles are included, the full list of which is:
