Dead Island 2 has surpassed 20 million players and the saga will continue

Dead Island 2 20 million players

Great news for both the now-classic Dead Island 2 and the zombie franchise. According to Deep Silver, the Dambuster Studios game has surpassed 20 million players worldwide, confirming that it has been one of the franchise’s most successful installments. This is great news, since Dead Island 2, as you may recall, had a difficult development and was delayed several times until it finally saw the light of day. When it did, it ultimately triumphed. And this has ensured that, as indicated now, the franchise already has its next installment in development, although no details have been revealed at this time.

14 Years of Gore and Guts

Since its blood-soaked debut in 2011, the Dead Island series has carved out a reputation for its visceral melee combat, dark humour, and unapologetically gory sandbox of zombie slaying fun. The release of Dead Island 2 in April 2023 reignited the franchise with unprecedented gore tech, brutal action, and an unforgettable Los Angeles setting, a true playground of carnage which over 20 million Slayers across the globe have now revelled in.

This is far from the end of the Zompocalypse though. Dambuster Studios has confirmed, today, that the team is already hard at work on the next chapter in the Dead Island saga, keeping details tightly under wraps for now. Fans can rest assured, though, the outbreak is far from over.
