The team behind Game Center Mikado x Natsuge Museum in Hakucho Kaikan, located in Takadanobaba, Tokyo, and also known as Natsugame Mikado, has announced that the store will close its doors on July 31st this year 2025. This is yet another arcade closure, something Tokyo is rapidly becoming accustomed to.
Apparently, the reason for the closure is the end of the contract that kept the game center open. It is located right outside the Waseda exit of Takadanobaba Station. Originally, it was a game center that emerged in response to two factors. One was the closure of Natsuge Museum, a very popular game center in Akihabara that closed its doors in 2019. The other was the goodwill and success of Game Center Mikado’s arcade games, which has locations in Ikebukuro and Takadanobaba. The opening was a huge success with gamers, but over time, popularity may have slowed. Opening hours are from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and the store will be open until July 31st.
Part of Natsugame Mikado’s appeal has always been its combination of classic arcade cabinets and an interesting selection of pinball machines. As previously mentioned, some of the machines available at this game center will be moved to Takadanobaba Game Center Mikado and Ikebukuro Game Center Mikado so that players can continue to enjoy them.
