July 12th will mark a special day for card game fans, especially those who love the Mobile Suit Gundam universe. It marks the simultaneous worldwide release of Gundam Card Game, which will be available with four starter decks in three different languages: Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese. Shortly after, on July 26th, the first booster pack, known as “Newtype Rising” (GD01), will go on sale. To promote this release, Bandai Card Division has decided to collaborate with Perfume, one of the most well-known J-pop groups in Japan and around the world.
To this end, a TV commercial dedicated to Gundam Card Game has been released, featuring Perfume’s song “Solar Wind”. This is an important collaboration, as this year is not only a notable one for Gundam, but Perfume is also in the spotlight. Thus, between September 22nd and 23rd, the group will perform their Perfume ZO/Z 5th Anniversary “Nebula Romance” Episode Tokyo Dome concert at the renowned stadium in the japanese capital. Perfume, a group formed by A-chan, Kashiyuka, and Nocchi, was formed in 1999 in Hiroshima and made its large-scale debut in 2005. They are now celebrating their 20th anniversary, sharing their career successes with their fans. Over the years, Perfume has not only triumphed with songs like “Polyrhythm,” but has also performed at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and Coachella 2019.
As for the Gundam Card Game, the Gundam Card Game -Link Station- program will air on June 27, during which the game’s four starter decks will be revealed. Meanwhile, on launch day, July 12, there will be special matches and guests, and the qualifiers for the 2025-2026 World Championships will be announced.
