On November 27th, The Yankee Brother will be released, a new beat ‘m up from D3 Publisher that shows the company returning to the type of B-movie games we were so used to during the PlayStation 2 era. The game, know as Badboy Brother outside of Japan (because the meaning of “yankee” in Japan may not be understood in the West), will be available on PC via Steam and on Nintendo Switch and will continue the popular The collection in the company’s history.
The company describes it as a “Yankee fighting battle action game,” or in other words, a beat ‘m up game with japanese high school gang members. However, be prepared for all the crazy stuff imaginable, because, after all, this is a game from “The” universe. This means we’ll encounter what the company describes as the “Fighting Mahjong System,” a system for collecting mahjong tiles to power up your character, or the Buddy Slot, which allows you to use totally crazy special moves. Additionally, you can also use a nickname system to power up your character in different ways with new abilities.
D3 Publisher says there are so many character customization combinations that it’s over 100 trillion, whatever that means. Plus, there’s two-player co-op, and the game looks so absurd it’s going to be a huge hit. Plus, the The philosophy means it’s launching at an unbeatable price: 2,000 yen digitally and 2,800 yen physically. Development is being handled by ZOC. We should be thankful to see D3 Publisher releasing games like this again, which restore our faith in the most fun Japanese craziness.

Fighting Mahjong System
With each attack, a Chinese tile is dealt, determining Renmaru’s initial abilities.
From there, after each battle, the fighting mahjong system begins, and you can use the “proof” you’ve collected in battle to acquire Chinese tiles. It’s up to the player whether to raise the level of each Chinese tile’s assigned ability by using tiles with the same abilities, or to acquire new abilities by using different tiles. Furthermore, in addition to the base ability level of each Chinese tile, you can also increase its strength by using “yaku” (hands) that are activated through combinations!
That’s the true joy of the fighting mahjong system!By combining tile levels and hands, you can achieve all the right combinations within all three rounds leading up to the boss battle. The Yankee power you wield will be on a completely different level!
Partner Slot System
If you get a winning combination on the slots, your partner will rush to your aid in a pinch, recovering your stamina, or fighting back with a gun beam or special move. Hitting the jackpot will also activate the nickname acquisition system!
Initially, only Batsuya is available, but as the game progresses, more partners can be set, and the slot combinations change depending on the partner! Choose a partner with the support you desire.

After acquiring a nickname, on very rare occasions, you may even move on to super jackpot mode, where you can acquire a special word!

STORY:
Midou Renmaru and Midou Batsuya. Childhood friends who formed a team with another friend in middle school—”MDU (Mi-Do-U).”
The team, once famous throughout the town, fell out after a certain incident and cruelly disbanded. Since then, they have avoided each other and walked separate paths.Then, in the spring of 2024, the two coincidentally attend the same school, Kitahama Fushimi High School (Kitafushimi). However, at the same time, high schools in the neighborhood are being consolidated due to a declining birthrate, and a notorious delinquent school, Dosho Gakuen High School (Dosho), moves into the Kitafushimi school district. Controlled by violence, Dosho begins its “invasion” by taking over surrounding high schools one after another.
One day, a female student from Kitafushimi is harassed by Dosho’s delinquents. However, she testifies that she was saved by a student who calls himself “Midou.”
Upon hearing this name, Doshu becomes enraged, and in retaliation begins the “Kitabushi Hunt,” indiscriminately targeting students at Kitabushi.Find “Midou” and make him an example – the two men who bear this name each carry regrets from “that day” in their hearts and set out to settle the score.
On the way to Doshu, Renmaru and Batsuya meet. Just exchanging glances makes their hearts tighten with the grudges and lingering feelings of the past. But their words are brief and their fists are unwavering. And so, the two “Midou” charge into Doshu Academy, the den of delinquents.

At first glance, he appears quiet and cool, but deep down he’s a very competitive guy. He’s the type who expresses everything through his actions, so if he’s confronted, he resolves the issue with a fight.
Because he’s quiet, it’s not well known to those around him, but during his middle school years he defeated several gang leaders from nearby middle and high schools, making him a highly skilled fighter. He had intended to quiet down once he entered high school, but a month after enrolling at Kitafushi, he came across a female student from Kitafushi being harassed by Doshuu delinquents and helped them by beating them down. This incident led him to throw himself into the fight against Doshuu.

He’s a mood-maker and usually has a carefree demeanor, but he’s trusted by those around him due to his strong sense of justice and caring nature. A month after enrolling at Kitafushi, he witnessed a student harassing some Doshu delinquents. He apologized, lightly punched them, and, despite being mocked, managed to calm the situation. He then summoned the three delinquents to an alleyway and beat them up.
He and Renmaru are childhood friends and were like partners in middle school, but a certain incident led to them losing contact. However, after Doshu hunts down Kitafushi, they rekindle their bond and fight together again. Apparently, Batsuya isn’t his only partner character… Stay tuned for more news!

Doshu Gakuen High School (commonly known as Doshu) is a notorious school for delinquents, governed by violence and aiming to dominate the nation.
Due to a relocation of the school building, it has moved into the Kitafushi school district where Renmaru and his friends attend. As they continue to invade neighboring schools, a family member is killed by a Kitafushi student calling himself “Midou,” which triggers the group to begin hunting Kitafushi.Standing in their way are the delinquents from a nearby school who were defeated by Doshu and became its affiliated school…!
